This is my dedicated electrical workspace-- the place where I keep tools to refurbish in the Big Blue Drawer (DBD). Over time, I’ve had to adapt it to also house my woodworking hobby machinery, namely the bandsaw and mitre saw.

Eventually, the space those two occupy will be rebuilt properly. For now, most of the timber used here came from offcuts and recycled pieces, so it’s a bit of a Ship of Theseus situation – gradually evolving as parts get replaced. It’s not perfect yet, but it’s functional enough to last until I build a dedicated woodworking bench, where the bandsaw and mitre will eventually move.

The shelf is standard but sturdy --I built it to hold at least my body weight, and yes, I tested it myself (no photos, but it passed with flying colours).

Once my laser cutter is fully finished, I’ll be able to introduce more organisation and make my own MDF electrical component bins. For now, the cables and bits at the top just sort of live there --it’s chaotic, but it works.
